About Us

Couple in Shosenkyo, Japan

We’re Emily & Seiji

A traveler couple, explorer and the team behind SweeTrip Japan.

We are always on the lookout for adventure, be it tasting new food, exploring a new place

On Weekends you might find us with our backpacks and camera, trekking in the mountains of Japan, enjoying some colorful festivals or tasting some fluffy pancakes!

We are kind of ‘Food travelers’ – no matter where we are, we always seek out delicious desserts, and the best gourmet around us.

Our traveling style may be a little bit different .
When we travel to nature places, our travels are so busy so we eat “on the way” .
On this kind of travels, we usually search a good restaurant on the evening with high review.
We have also have “Café – Main” traveling style. In this kind of travels, we only eats in different places.

We also love exploring uncovering hidden gems that are worth sharing.

We are sharing our experiences with the tasty dishes, beautiful places, warm culture, and living as locals among the Japanese  people.

Our Story

He said ‘Hi’ in 2013, She said ‘Yes’ in 2015 and finally they said, “I do” in 2016. And the rest, as they say, is history!

We first met in 2013, when Emily was a student in Japanese language school.  When we realize that we have same hobbies we’re immediately got really closed together. We have been traveling together since our early dating time!
(Our third date was hike on Mount Takao!)

We got married in 2016, in a unique way. We invited two alpacas for the wedding. The alpaca brought us the rings. And it was special wedding for us, and for the guests. It was absolutely unforgettable wedding!

Traveling taught us a lot. It made us responsible travelers and it made us grounded and open-minded.

Travel is the thing that makes the two of us feel the most alive. Travel is what makes us happy.

Emily`s Story

I was born and grown up in Israel.
Japan was part of my life for long time before I moved.

Since I was 10 years old, I started watching Anime, and that is actually what made me interested with Japan. By Anime I started learning Japanese, listened to J-pop and J-rock and started to fall in love with Japan.
When I was 12 years old, I decided to move to Japan after high school. I dreamed so much to move, and saved money for this dream,

After high school graduation, I made my dream come true!
I moved to Japan in 2013 alone as a student . First, I enter to one year of Japanese school for learning the language (I have N1 of JLPT test). And then entered to study an animal nursing in Animal Collage for two years.
I have always loved animals and wanted to work with animals. So after two years of collage, I started to work in Animal Clinic in Japan.

In mid 2017 I have started learning driving license in Japanese to be able to reach more to Japan`s hidden places that it is hard to get by public transport. In 2018 I passed first test exam and got my first driving license for travel more in Japan.
