About Naruko Gorge
Naruko Gorge (鳴子峡, Narukokyō) is located in Miyagi Prefecture. And its one of the Tohoku Region’s most scenic gorges.
The gorge located in the Kurikoma Quasi-National Park is officially recognised as a place of scenic beauty.
Every year around late October to early November, the gorge transforms into one of the region’s most popular autumn color spots.
The 100m high sheer cliffs offer spectacular views with a range of unique rock formations. Known as one of Tohoku’s greatest places of autumnal beauty, the deep gorge is particularly impressive when decorated with colourful autumn leaves.
View Point Spot
You can enjoy the magnificent views from some few spots, one at the observation platform of Naruko-kyo Rest House. another one is from the bridge, and there also few observation decks along the local walking trails.
Many cameramans came to see the charming local train passing from the gorge tunnel from the bridge itself.

Naruko Gorge Rest House sells local souvenirs and has some foods and snacks .
Really recommend to try the Dango their！（I really ate 3 Dango their because it was so delicious!)

Obukasawa Bridge
Obukasawa Bridge is a part of the landscape, but the view from the top of the bridge is also superb.
You can see the JR Rikuuto Line running through Naruko Gorge.
And Many cameramans wait till the train will come.
Walking Pass
There is several walking pass, we will write about the two main of them:
Naruko Gorge Walking Trail
One of the most recommended course is that you can get off from Naruko Gorge Rest House to Daiya Riverpleasant called – Naruko Gorge Walking Trail – which takes about 30 minutes one way (350m one way).
You can see Obukasawa Bridge from down while walking the trail
Ofukazawa Walking Trail
Another a pleasant walking path of about 2.2km (about 50 minutes) which called – Ofukazawa Walking Trail .
In this walking trail, you don`t have much point view. This walking trail is in a forest, it has magnificent autumn colors of this forest and beautiful nature.

Access:
Shuttle bus – Only during the autumn season there is shuttle bus from Naruko-Onsen station to Naruko George. Please check before you go.
Car – Along the main road there are several free parking areas.
