Plum Flowers are blossom in Japan from February to March. Like the Cherry blossom, the plum trees also have many kind of colors and flowers.
One of the kind of plum trees called “weeping trees” (In Japanese – weeping means Shidare 枝垂れ) ※(it has also in cherry blossom this kind of trees – 枝垂れ梅・枝垂れ桜) And believe it or not, they are as beautiful as cherry blossoms. (In my opinion, even more beautiful then the Cherry Blossom) Suzuka Forest Garden Weeping Plum Blossom Festival is definitely the best place to enjoy plum blossoms (Ume 梅 in Japanese) in Japan.
In Mie prefecture, in a city called Suzuka, there is a park called Suzuka Forest Garden (鈴鹿の森庭園 – Suzuka No Mori Teien)
The park is a home to about 200 weeping plum trees which is one of the largest sites for plum blossoms in Japan. The garden and plum trees are landscaped and maintained by experienced gardeners regularly. From white to vivid pink, plum blossoms in various colours flourish beautifully at the garden and create the picturesque scenery.
The best time to visit
Suzuka Forest Garden Plum Blossom Festival is held annually during the season usually from mid February to late March. The best viewing time for plum blossoms is usually from early March. (We went there twice at end of the weekend of February to the start of March)
