Sleeping on tent tree

“Tree Picnic Adventure IKEDA ” is Japan’s largest adventure forest . And here you can stay in a tent on a deck stretched over a tree!

To be surrounded by forests, the setting sun falls in front of you in the evening, creating a fantastic landscape.
At night, spend a relaxing time watching the moon and enjoy the sounds of birds, rivers, and wind.
A tent on a tree where you can spend time together with nature is a secret base that most of us dreamed of when we were young!

The tent is about 4 metres off the ground. And has amazing View!

In the area there only two tents on the trees. In one tent there a capacity of only 2 people (in their website they write that 4 people can be but from my opinion it will be strangled).
There is sleeping bags and small lamp in the tent but you can rent other things there if you think it is not enough for you.

There is no doubt that it will be a once-in-a-lifetime unforgettable memory . But it has also few demerited ;

1. The tent is really shaky if there a winds and may disturb for sleeping. It felt like an earthquake. So we really recommended to choose a good day with a good weather and with no wind.

2. The toilet is about 2-4 minutes from the tent. You need to get down and walk a little bit. So it is better to go to the toilet before sleeping. There are lights on the way, so no need worry to walk at night.

3. You are not allowed to drink alcohol in the tent area.

But it is defiantly fun experience!

Other Camping Options

There also other camping options expect tent, such as:
・Cottage that good for families.
・Tree House – to enjoy a simple lodge style
・Cabin style for large groups

In the area you can do also BBQ, and there also one day enter Onsen (hot spring) place but need to walk for about 10 minutes from the place it is called ” Keiryu Onsen Kanmuri Sou” and there we also had Soba set in dinner.

Adventure Park

Besides camping, it is forest playground where both adults and children can enjoy!
There so many options to do even if you don`t come for camping.

1. Mega Zip Line

The largest mega zip line in Japan.
Running from 510 meters in length one way (1 kilometer two ways) and 60 meters in height is a thrilling point!
It’s like seeing a scenic full of power, as if flying into the forest.

2. Forest playground

Forest jungle gym spread through the trees. Includes treetop climbing , small zip lines etc..

3. Adventure Boat

Rubber boats to the negative down the river.
And also rafting.

Access

There is no bus or train to the camping area. It is located deep in the mountains of Fukui. So the only option is rental car or to take taxi from Fukui station – which takes about 45 minutes by car. Or from Takefu station which takes about 30 minutes by car.

We took rental car from Fukui station. In our way we met this funny Totoro and Neko Bus

The parking is free in the camping parking lot. And the area is fully green and with beautiful nature.

When you enter inside, there is small store that sells cute decoration things. It was so cute!

Tips

・We recommended to make reservation for each adventure you interested in for about 1 month before. because they limited in number of people .

・ Bring comfortable clothes with you.

Tent Tree for one night
June – September ￥18,000 ／October – May ￥20,000

Adventures:
Zip Line, Adventure Park each ￥3,700 per person.

Access:
There not bus or train for this place.
From Takefu station it about 30 minutes by car, or Fukui station 45 minutes by car.
You can use taxi or rental car.
