Enjoy 360° Panoramic Forest View at Saga Prefecture

Kankyo Geijutsu No Mori (環境芸術の森) is a private forest that located on the southwestern slope of Mt. Sakureisan of Saga Prefecture
This private forest is stretching on about 20-hectare and took about 30 years to be made, was designed by Masaaki Tsuruda, a famous environmental artist and garden master in Japan.

Best Season to visit

Autumn

Though the forest offers gorgeous views all year round, it is best visited in autumn (from early November to mid November).
This place has more than 10,000 maple trees which turn from yellow to red and turn the valley into a whole other world!
The sea of vivid red fall leaves stretch out as far as the eye can see! Which providing a 360° view of the maple trees.

Summer

We actually visited there in Summer, at beginning of May, while the fresh green of the maple leaf’s has started. It was absolutely gorguos!

Even in Summer, you can see some red maple trees there!
How is that so?
There a specific kind of maple trees that from the start they are red, until the winter comes. They red from start to the end.
This kind of tree called “Nomura Momiji” (ノムラモミジ)
It was really interesting to see this color around the green season in May.

What you can see inside

Inside the forest, there  old house called “Fuyusanso”, a building made from the waste materials of a house built 100 years ago, in which visitors can enjoy from the view of leaves being reflected on the table mirror.
The table mirror located in the middle of the room, and the floor-to-ceiling windows are installed instead of walls, which makes it magnificent view.

You can get really photogenic pictures in this place.

There a little waterfalls and walking path arrangement of the natural stones which are exquisite.
